Paul Maytan AC2T
Paul AC2T and His wife Emily AC2V were long time members of the Yonkers Amateur Radio Club. Paul Served as the Membership Secretary for many years. For many years he was the keeper of the YARC repeaters and was a fixture at the club's annual Field Days and FOX Hunts, but he probably is best know for his work as a Volunteer Examiner administering well over 700 VE Sessions over the years between WECA, YARC Sunday mornings at the First Police Precinct and later on from the PAL and from his home. Paul always thought it was important to get new hams into the hobby especially young people and probably most of the Hams in Westchester and the surrounding are had at least one of their tests administered by Paul and Emily. Paul will be missed by many. Every ham that has ever had contact with him will always have a "Paul" story to share. He will always be remembered by the YARC members who were fortunate enough to know him.
Paul M Maytan also known as AC2T (call sign) passed Sunday February 4, 2024
at 1:40 am at age 89. Paul lived in Yonkers, NY with his late wife Emily Maytan
also known as AC2V (call sign). He is survived by his daughter Karen Mancuso and
grandchildren Nicole Gabriele, Tracyann Mancuso, Ronny Mancuso, Alexirose
Mancuso, with his great grandchildren Damien Drost, Matthew Gabriele,
Christopher Gabriele, Riley Drost, Melanie Drost, Felicity Mancuso, Harrison
Mancuso, and Ameliajean Fantigrossi. Paul was an engineer by trade for Columbia
University which aided in his love for ham radio. AC2T and AC2V were a large
part of the ham radio community. Paul’s passion was to offer a tech net on
Tuesday evenings to educate hams. AC2T offered weekly testing for the ARRL for
new hams to get their license as-well as countless upgrades. Regardless of all
the awards he received and 1000s of QSL cards from speaking to hams all over the
world he would say the best part is the conversation.
